Garage Sale Bike Customization
This bike began as a Spaulding garage sale purchase. I peeled off the slightly garish, flourescent green decals, repainted everything with a flat black spray can. I wanted to play with a kind of paint-it-black style, wherein everything was black. I even painted the tires, rims, and spokes. The other simple enhancement was to "flip and clip" the rams handle bars, and to place the brake levers in a funky manner. This is a very fast, lightweight bike, with a crappy, but funky paint job. Total cost: $40 at garage sale, $5 for can of paint, $10 for pedal clips, and, uh, one roll of handle bar tape, which comes to $5.
